We met up with Jim at Chick-Fil-A this evening, just to chat and see how he's doing. The initial flurry of activity has died down, and now we're waiting for larger goals to fall into place. We marveled again at the fact that we were able to file his VA claim on Tuesday as easily as we did. I didn't talk enough about how easy the staff at the Franklin County Veterans Service Commission made the process for us. They are absolutely to notch.
I got Jim a Netflix account. He likes watching movies and videos, so I told him to try Netflix for a month and if he enjoys, I'll pay for it. I'm sure he'll love it, and it makes me happy to think that he'll be engrossed in a good series or movie that will distract him from any issues he might be facing.
Other than that, today was a pretty quiet day. I asked him if there's anything he needs or if there's anything we should be doing that we're not, and he said that he's fine. I asked him what he's going to do in the heat tomorrow and suggested that maybe he could use some of the movie passes my friend Kim
gave him. He liked that idea a lot. Thanks for that, Kim. You gave him comfort and me peace of mind. :)
