This organization was founded because of Jim, a homeless veteran who more than 200 of us banded together to help out. We managed to raise nearly $10,000 to replace a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville he had been living in, without air conditioning, for four years. He now has a 2007 Honda Element. In a few weeks, he moves into Veterans Affairs subsidized housing, and his Veterans Affairs claim is being expedited at the request of Senator Sherrod Brown's office. So many things have happened since that sweltering Independence Day just a few short weeks ago. Tomorrow, Jim and many of the people who helped him will come together to celebrate that achievement, and I could not be happier to be part of it! Look forward to photos in the evening and watch our Facebook page for a live video (if I can figure it out).
