Last week, we were invited to meet with Whitehall Police Department to discuss how Starfish Assignment could help them in their efforts to serve their community. This was a particularly exciting opportunity for us, as five-sixth of our board members and many of our volunteers either currently work or have worked for the federal government in Whitehall. Therefore, the city is dear to our hearts and we have an additional interest in supporting these officers in their efforts to help their community.
We invited Chief Mike Crispen, Deputy Chief Dan Kelso, Sgt Rex Adkins, and Officer Mike Dillon to stop by our upcoming Cops and Barbers event, to see if they'd like us to help them put on a similar event in their own community with their own officers. They were very kind and gracious, and we hope to work with them in the near future.
