We want to send a huge thank you to our premier Cops and Barbers sponsor, AEP Ohio, for making the events of last week possible. When we met with them in early June, they were immediately on board with our vision of helping as many kids as possible. In fact, their vision exceeded ours: they are the ones who encouraged us to add in a component for girls, and who gave us the funding to make it a reality.
We're a young organization--just over a year old--and Cops and Barbers is by far the largest event we've planned. AEP Ohio worked with us every step of the way, helping us whenever we needed it, offering guidance and advice, from that first meeting in June, up to and including the days of the events. They also turned out in a big way to get major work done--volunteering to stuff 1,000 backpacks the week before Cops and Barbers at the Columbus Division of Police Training Academy and then turning out in droves to staff the events themselves (including manning four bucket trucks for rides!).
Along the way, AEP Ohio became more than a sponsor, more even than a friend. They became part of the Starfish family. We look forward to many, many more events with them.
