What a day filled with joy and unforgettable memories! Today, we had the pleasure of donating more than 100 bicycles to the wonderful children at Far East Community Center. The air was filled with pure happiness as the kids picked their bicycles, strapped on their helmets, and embarked on their first ride on their new wheels. Their smiles, hugs, and enthusiastic cheers were the highlights of the day!
Representatives from Columbus Division of Police, Dublin Police, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Gahanna, were there every step of the way, alongside the 614 Cadets, helping each child fit their helmet and select a bike. A big shout-out to Center Manager Roger Harper, whose gleaming smile reflected the joy and excitement of the day. Columbus Safety Director, Kate McSweeney-Pishotti, also joined us and was thrilled to watch the children receiving the bikes.
Of course, an endeavor like this requires a considerable team effort. We are deeply grateful for everyone who has helped make Bikes & Badges possible. This includes our incredible sponsors Byers Airport Subaru, the Cooper Family Foundation, Shook Construction, CME Federal Credit Union, and Walmart Dublin - Britton Pkwy.
Also, we couldn't have done this without the agencies who held bike drives, namely Dublin Police, Gahanna Division of Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Columbus Division of Police. Our sincerest thanks to Columbus Recreation and Parks for always being such great partners on our events.
A heartfelt thank you to the numerous volunteers and officers from multiple agencies who have selflessly given their time and expertise over the past few months to ensure this event's success. We love you, and it's been so much fun spending time with you.
Finally, thank you to all the individual bike donors. As you can see, you've helped bring smiles to many children's faces today and created memories that will last a lifetime.
