Hundreds of children across three counties are receiving bookbags filled with school supplies thanks to Walmart Dublin - Britton Pkwy and Starfish donors, and we thought you'd love to see some of these great photos. We teamed up with Columbus Division of Police, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Franklin Township Police Department, Marion Police Department, and Marysville Division of Police to get more than 450 bags into the hands of kids, and given those smiles, we'd say it was a huge success!
When CPD Lieutenant Chris Lieb stopped at a home yesterday to ask a brother and sister if they'd like bags, the little boy hurtled down the steps and hugged Lt Lieb's legs, telling him he "wants to be police" when he grows up. He liked him even more when he found out there were school supplies and a bookbag involved. (And a badge sticker, of course.)
Thanks to CPD's Zone 1 Safe Streets and our Starfish volunteers for stuffing all those bags. Let's do it again next year!
