Today Starfish joined Columbus Recreation and Parks Department's Linden Community Center to have a final Books & Badges event with Columbus Division of Police Chief Michael Woods before he retires. He read Horton Hatches the Egg to approximately 60 fantastic and attentive children. This is his favorite book from childhood, one his mother read to him, one that he read to his three daughters, and one that he read at all the Books & Badges events he did with us since our program started.
To say goodbye to Chief Woods, since December, we've been taking a copy of this book to CPD officers across the city so they could sign it as a keepsake for him. Today we got to present it to him, while thanking him for everything he's done for the city and for Starfish.
We appreciate you so much, Chief Woods, and we hope to work with you again soon. Thank you, and be safe.💙
