Books & Badges: Scottwood Elementary

Get ready for a Books & Badges adventure like no other! Over 20 Columbus Division of Police officers, 2 K-9's, and 1 therapy dog visited the amazing Scottwood Elementary, spreading story-time magic to all 450 students! Each lucky child took home a copy of the book read by their officer, and the event was filled with stickers, stamps, bracelets, smiles, high fives, and hugs!

Officer Rhoads and Sergeant Christopher Smith-Hughes were extra pumped for this event! Why? Officer Rhoads patrols the Scottwood area, and Sgt. Smith-Hughes was a student there (with a photo to prove it, below). The kids were thrilled to meet them and know to wave at Officer Rhoads when they see car 90!

The RREACT team had the kiddos captivated, inspiring one kindergartener to ask about a ride-along!

K-9 Officers Odja and Ayko wowed everyone with their incredible skills! Odja showed off his kangaroo-style jumps, while Ayko played detective, finding a lost cell phone on the playground. These furry officers never cease to amaze us!

A gigantic thank you to the fantastic faculty, staff, and students of Scottwood. We had a blast and are truly grateful for your warm welcome!
