Columbus Division of Police and Franklin Township Police Department officers have been distributing 400 kits of food all across the city to people need. The kits are geared towards children, but anyone will enjoy them--they contain cereal and milk, fruit, juice, and two cans of main dishes. Many thanks to Mid-Ohio Foodbank for their generosity and to Ashley Fanny of Feed the Kids Columbus and Teja Kancharlapalli of Sahara-Columbus for connecting us to them.
A special shout out to CPD Officers Alec Anderson and Colleen Thiel (pictured), who picked up Starfish's entire allotment from Mid-Ohio and delivered Zone 3's boxes to them (West Side). They said they had a great time meeting the other charities who were also picking up--everyone pitched in to load each other's vehicles--and they met some new contacts to help people in the course of their duties. All of this makes our hearts happy!
