Gahanna/FBI Bike Drive

What an amazing morning! Today's bike drive, co-sponsored by Gahanna Division of Police and the Cincinnati Division of the FBI, was an outstanding success! We witnessed a fantastic congregation of our Starfish friends, all lending their support and energy. This included not only our wonderful GPD and FBI friends, but also Gahanna Mayor Laurie Jadwin, dedicated officers from Columbus Police and Dublin Police, seven enthusiastic Starfish Executive/Advisory Board Members, our incredible volunteer Jack Carlin (who made the trip from Athens), and tireless Center Manager, Roger Harper, from Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. As you can guess, the day was filled with fun, laughter, and camaraderie, and we all enjoyed meeting the wonderful people of Gahanna who came out to donate their bikes.

Their efforts resulted in a staggering collection of around 70 bikes! The task ahead is an exciting one: refurbishing these bicycles to look and feel as good as new.

And the best part? As summer arrives, these bikes will find their way to their new owners: pre-registered children from selected Columbus Recreation and Parks centers.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make today a success. If you couldn't make it to today's drive but are eager to contribute, worry not! The next opportunity will be on June 10 from 11am-1pm at Lazelle Woods Community Center, 8140 Sancus Blvd, Westerville. Thank you for all of your support!
