Our friends from Sahara-Columbus donated 40 fall blessing bags to Columbus Division of Police. Each one of them was lovingly decorated by a child and contained:
6 boxes of macaroni & cheese
6 packages of ramen
2 cans of Chef Boyardee ravioli
2 cans of pasta
4 chewy granola bars
They also donated bags for individuals experiencing homelessness and a bunch of Halloween-themed treat bags for the officers to pass out to children.
We met with them at 1 Precinct Substation (North Columbus), where Zone 1 Commander Mike Gray and Zone 1 B Company Lieutenant Chris Lieb gave them a tour of the substation. They showed them the armory, the officers' lockers and personal protective gear, the Mobile Command Center, and let them see a squad car. It was a lot of fun and we loved being part of it.
The bags will be distributed by officers in the Hilltop, Linden, and on the East Side of the city. Thanks, Sahara-Columbus!
