This week, Columbus Division of Police completed the fourth Operation Unity--a concentrated, 15-hour effort to remove illegal weapons, violent offenders, and narcotics from a specific area of the city. This Operation Unity was centered on the Northeast Side, and once again they did a fantastic job. Look at these stats:
15 felony arrests
3 stolen vehicles recovered
13 illegal guns recovered
7 search warrants served
14 arrest warrants served
1,162 grams of cocaine seized
708 grams of fentanyl seized
3,572 grams of marijuana seized
473 grams of meth seized
$39,000 cash seized
$268,000 street value in suspected drugs recovered
(That is a pound of meth and 2.5 pounds of cocaine!)
Thanks to our generous donors, Byers Auto Group and CME Federal Credit Union, we were able to supply bagels and coffee for the officers when Operation Unity kicked off and City Barbecue in both the afternoon and evening so they could eat and get back out there and do their thing.
Thank you to Byers and CME for helping us do this and thank you to CPD and their civilian support for everything they do to keep the city safe. What a wonderfully successful outcome!
