We're feeling incredibly grateful as we wrap up this year's Starfish Assignment/AEP Ohio Coat Drive. Over the past six years, this project has grown into something truly special, and this year was no exception.
Today, when Columbus Division of Police Officer James Poole handed a small boy a warm winter coat, he asked, "Is this really for me to keep?" After Officer Poole assured him it was, the boy smiled and said, "I even have my own hat!" These are moments we'll cherish forever.
None of this would've been possible without the support of our amazing law enforcement partners- Columbus Police, Dublin Police, and Gahanna Division of Police - who helped distribute nearly 700 coats across the area. A huge thanks to AEP Ohio and Macy's for their generous sponsorship and to all the volunteers, including the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, who put their hearts into this drive.
Every coat given out brings more than warmth; it brings smiles, hope, and a sense of caring. We're so proud to be part of this effort and to work with these amazing people. We can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together in the future.
Thank you to everyone who's been a part of this journey. You helped to make a difference for so many children. Here's to many more beautiful memories and chances to bring our community closer together.
