Support for Miss Mary

Recently, Columbus Division of Police Officers Paul Badois and Gerald Sullivan contacted us about a wonderful woman they’d met—Miss Mary. She lost her beloved partner to breast cancer and has faced one challenge after another since then, including serious health issues of her own, but she’s handled it all with strength and grace.

Lately, things got especially tough, and she used the last of her funds to pay bills, leaving her without money for food. Officers Badois and Sullivan were happy to get her all the groceries on her list. Thanks to our donors, we were able to provide her with $150 in Kroger gift cards to help her get through to payday. She was so touched and grateful.

We’re sharing a sweet photo of Officer Sullivan shopping. We love how happy he is—and how clearly his love and care for Miss Mary shine through in this picture.

Officer Shawn Lutz and Neighborhood Liaison Katherine Cull are working with Miss Mary on longer-term support.

Thank you to our supporters, who make it possible for us to immediately say yes when officers reach out to help someone in need, and to the amazing officers we’re privileged to work with, like Officers Badois and Sullivan, who truly protect and serve.
