Yesterday, the Fourth Annual Bikes & Badges kicked off with a successful bike drive, all thanks to the incredible residents of Dublin who donated over 70 bikes in just two hours! Held at the Dublin Justice Center, dedicated officers were joined by enthusiastic little helpers, who eagerly assisted with unloading bikes from vehicles and transporting them to the garage. (Their hard work was rewarded with stickers and donuts, of course!)
We are deeply grateful to Dublin Police for hosting this heartwarming event for the third year in a row. In these three years, we've managed to collect more than 400 bikes! A special shout-out to our partners at the Cincinnati Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Madison Township Police Department, and Hilliard Division of Police for also supporting the event.
In the coming weeks, Columbus Division of Police officers will ensure the bikes are in tip-top shape, making any necessary repairs. Then, our amazing partners at Columbus Recreation and Parks Department will help identify children enrolled in their summer programs who are in need of bikes, and officers will personally hand them out.
Missed the event? Don't fret! Keep an eye out for another opportunity to donate a bike in the near future. We appreciate your continued support in making a difference in the lives of these children.
