Thank you to the amazing residents of Dublin and the surrounding areas for donating 135 bikes to our Third Annual Bikes & Badges event, which kicked off yesterday at the Dublin Justice Center. We're so grateful to everyone who came together to make this event a success, especially the officers, employees, and volunteers of Dublin. Thank you all for your hard work.
In addition to Dublin Police, three other Starfish partner agencies also participated--Columbus Division of Police, Hilliard Division of Police, and the Columbus Regional Airport Authority at John Glenn Columbus International Airport. The CPD Radio Room was represented, and civilians and Starfish board members from across the city also came to help. (And donuts--of course we had donuts.)
It was wonderful talking to the kind and generous people who took time out of their Saturday to come see us. Many people donated brand new bicycles. One little girl donated a bike in honor of her grandfather. Our hearts.
Once the event was over, we got to meet up with one of our sister charities, IMPACT Community Action, where Josh Kessler, Director of Operations and Infrastructure, not only came in on his day off to let us in the warehouse, but helped us unload those 135 bikes. We love IMPACT, what they do and the people who work there, and we're so happy that they partner with us.
These bikes will be given any necessary repairs by officers and donated to children through Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. We'll have more opportunities to donate in the coming weeks if you missed this drive or just want to come say hello.
Thank you all so much for your generosity and your time!
