Please join us on Wednesday, August 26, at noon on the Books & Badges Facebook page for storytime with Dublin Police Officer Chad Patrick. Officer Patrick has been a police officer for 17 years and has served as a patrol officer, a field training officer, and a technical accident investigator. But this year, he starts a new assignment as the school resource officer (SRO) for Dublin Grizzell Middle School, which he’s very much looking forward to. He says, “I’m really excited to be part of a proactive group that can help educate and prepare the youth of Dublin for the stresses and difficulties of becoming young adults.” When we asked why he felt being an SRO is so important, he said, “The schools should be a safe and protected environment for kids to learn, socialize and grow. I hope that my presence there will give them that comfort and security so they can focus on learning.”
Outside of work, Ofc Patrick says his favorite thing to do is spend time with his family.
