We are thrilled to announce that David “Davey” Jones has joined the Starfish Assignment Advisory Board!
After an extraordinary 31-year career with the Columbus Division of Police, Davey recently retired, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and community impact. Throughout his career, he excelled in multiple roles, from field training officer to firearms instructor, and of course, as a celebrated member of the Canine Unit alongside his trusted partner, K-9 Ayko.
As a longtime supporter of Starfish Assignment, Davey has played an instrumental role in many of our events, including being one of four officers at our first-ever Books & Badges reading on December 19, 2019. His efforts to give back to the community have helped foster positive relationships between officers and the citizens they serve, making Starfish Assignment a better organization in the process.
Davey’s retirement marked the end of an era, but his dedication to service remains strong. As a member of our Advisory Board, he brings unmatched experience, wisdom, and heart, which will continue to inspire and guide our efforts in strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the community.
Please join us in welcoming Davey to his new role and thanking him for his lifelong commitment to making a difference.
