Please join us in welcoming Madison Township Police Department to the Starfish Family! We are thrilled to be working with them, and they are already very familiar with us. Not only are they set up with Books & Badges, in which their officers will read to kids and every child will receive a copy of the book to take home, but they asked to participate in our door security bar program.
This program began thanks to an idea from CPD Officer Dan Snyder and continues thanks to Lowe's Home Improvement and Starfish donors. We provide these door bars so that officers have them available as they take reports from victims of crime. The victims can use the bars to barricade the doors so they can feel safe in their homes and not worry that their offenders will come back and break in before the police arrive.
Madison Township Chief Gary York played a crucial role in yesterday's surprise award for Officer Poole from the Blue Jackets: he kept his schedule open for us until we finalized a time. Then, our meeting with him and his team gave us an opportunity to keep Officer Poole away from the Motor Unit as everything was set up.
So, not only do we already love Madison Township, but they are already familiar with Starfish Shenanigans! We're going to do such great things together.
