We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Reading Police Department. They are excited to participate in our Books & Badges program, an initiative in which law enforcement officers read to children and provide them with a copy of the book to take home. This program has donated more than 55,000 books to agencies across the country and has worked to encourage positive interactions and a love of reading along the way.
School Resource Officer Samuel Hickey (pictured here) will be leading Books & Badges in Reading and is eager to connect with the students in this community. Officer Hickey shared, "I love the idea of being able to interact with them, to learn/teach them, and then the idea of leaving them with something that can enforce what just occurred in a memorable way."
Chief Bryan Edens heads the Reading Police Department, and he and his officers strive to serve and protect this vibrant town, which is located just a few miles north of Cincinnati. This close-knit community is known for its rich history and strong sense of local pride. We are excited to work together to make a positive impact on the lives of the children in this wonderful community!
